National Geographic - feeding my love.

morell-photography is what I want to blog about today. (please use the hyperlink to see what Im talking about).

Every visit to my Grandparents house I spent some time as a child on their front porch, and I would just look at the pictures in the collection of National Geographics they had. I learned you can tell a story from a picture. And as a child I knew I wanted to learn how to capture moments like those photographers did. And with a current subscription I was drawn to the article on Morell. HE once again revitalized my deep desire to want to learn more.

While in school for my degree my professors keep saying that you should never stop learning, I a professional student of life, love to learn.

Why I carry a Camera.

I have always known that I wouldn't be the next Monet, or DaVinci. Yet, the desire has always been there to capture moments, a camera was my equipment of choice.

I have had a lot of cameras, those slim 110mm film cameras, a 35mm camera, a few digital cameras, and currently a Nikon P100. The goal has always been the same to catch what I saw and felt with a photo that will be worth those 1000 words later.

I have been self-taught for a majority of the time, except for a brief 4 week class that I took at Ivy Tech. I have taught myself Photoshop, but I will try not to use it for the only reason that I like to have the picture like I was just there, natural and unedited.

I love to take pictures of everything and anything. Currently besides my children I have a love of old buildings and barns. I shoot in both color and black and white in Manual mode. My prices as based on what I feel my time and current experience is worth.

I LOVE natural light but I do shoot indoors.
